Heartland CASA Wraps Up 2025 Playhouse Raffle with Community Spirit and a Heartwarming Finale

The Heartland CASA Playhouse Raffle 2025 has officially come to a close, marking another successful year of community engagement, generosity, and support for local children in foster care. Presented by Brinkoetter Realtors, MetroDecatur HomeBuilders Association, Lowe's, JDM Custom Construction,
and Prairie Built Barns, this year's raffle brought together neighbors, businesses, and advocates in a shared mission to uplift and protect the most vulnerable members of our community.

The raffle featured an exciting lineup of backyard essentials, including a self-propelled battery-powered mower, a Pit Boss smoker, a Blackstone grill, Adirondack chairs from 121 Patios, a cozy fire pit, and the grand finale prize—a custom-built 8×10 garden shed designed as the ultimate Backyard Oasis.

Heartland CASA is proud to announce the winners: Mary Jo Thacker, Shirley Lohmar, Vicky Smith, Dianna Puckett, and Shelly Lancaster—all passionate community supporters whose participation helped make this event a resounding success.

But the most touching moment came from this year's playhouse winner, Lauren Connelly, whose act of kindness captured the spirit of CASA's mission. Rather than keeping the playhouse, Lauren chose to donate it to a local foster family, creating a joyful and imaginative space for children who need it most. Her generosity reminds us all of the power of compassion and the impact one person can make.

Heartland CASA is thrilled to announce the launch of its highly anticipated 2025 Playhouse Raffle, offering community members the chance to win a stunning custom-built 8 x 10′ garden shed—themed as a Backyard Oasis—along with a lineup of exciting summer prizes.

Crafted by Prairie Built Barns, the grand prize garden shed features charming flower boxes and a collapsible porch, making it the perfect playhouse, garden retreat, or personal escape. The raffle also includes a series of summer essentials such as a self-propelled lawn mower, pellet smoker, grill and meat bundles, Adirondack chair set, and a TIKI fire pit.

Heartland CASA, formerly Macon County CASA, invites you to participate in our 23rd annual CASA Playhouse Raffle fundraiser. The CASA Playhouse Raffle is an annual fundraiser to benefit the Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Program, a non-profit that recruits and trains community volunteers to serve as advocates for abused and neglected children in the Macon, DeWitt, Christian, and Moultrie County courts' care.
