Meet Blaine Smith, our Executive Director!
Blaine Smith joined Heartland CASA in 2023, bringing more than a decade of nonprofit leadership experience and a deep commitment to improving the lives of children and families. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Deaf Education, as well as a Master of Arts in Human Services with a concentration in Child and Family Studies.
Blaine’s passion for CASA’s mission is rooted in both her professional and personal experiences. As a foster parent in Macon County, she witnessed firsthand the challenges children face while navigating the child welfare system and the profound impact that a caring, consistent advocate can have on a child’s future. Those experiences inspired her to dedicate her career to ensuring that every child has a voice and someone firmly in their corner.
Prior to joining CASA, Blaine led nonprofit organizations focused on serving children, families, and individuals with differing abilities. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with community partners, service providers, and stakeholders to expand access to resources and create opportunities for children and families to thrive.
Outside of her professional role, Blaine enjoys life on her small farm in Christian County with her two children, Laela and Logan. Together they care for a lively collection of animals, including dogs, horses, and goats!
