One way to “advocate” for our community’s abused and neglected children is to help spread CASA’s mission.
Macon County CASA invites you to stay connected with events, donor thank yous, volunteer opportunities, recommendations for positive parent-child interactions, and more through our social media outlets. Like, share, and comment on our posts to help Macon County and surrounding communities understand why 630 local foster children need a voice.

It’s movie time! Thank you to all of our local organizations: Bikers Against Child Abuse, Pawprint Ministries, DCFS, Decatur Police Department, Kemmerer Village, and Webster Cantrell Youth Advocacy; Mara and Aaron Warner and Revival Culture Church, Trisha Swafford, The McKinney family, and our own Lori Ann McDaniel for making tonight’s event possible! This movie tells the story of Possum Trot, and shows the importance of the village it takes to advocate for the best interests of the children within the overburdened foster care system. We are so proud to be a part of this event that shares this story to our community and we sincerely hope it inspires you to join our village. While the news of National CASA losing its funding doesn’t directly affect Macon County CASA, it doesn’t mean that we are entirely unaffected. There are over 600 children in the foster care system in Macon County alone, with 58 volunteers and 5 paid staff members to be their eyes, ears, and voice within the court system and beyond. Our expansion project will add nearly 200 additional children as well. In most cases, the most consistent person in these children’s lives is their CASA advocate. With this recent news and all the uncertainty our organization and community is feeling, we highly encourage you to join us by becoming a CASA volunteer and to support our fundraising campaigns. For information on our upcoming training and ways for you to support our organization, please visit maconcountycasa.org! ... See MoreSee Less
